Biography

Ülfet Kutoğlu graduated from the department of English Language and Literature at Eastern Mediterranean University in 1993. Obtaining the first rank in the Faculty, she was awarded a scholarship to study Masters Degree in the English Language and Visual Arts Education of Sussex University.

Dr. Kutoğlu started teaching at Eastern Mediterranean University  as an English Language instructor in the Service English Unit  from 1994 until 2000.  During this period, she taught academic and technical English in various Faculties and Schools.

She completed her PhD. in Marmara University in the field of Communication Sciences in 2002. Currently, she is working at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies in the Public Relations and Advertising Department of Eastern Mediterranean University.

Besides offering more than 24 different courses, Dr. Kutoğlu was also appointed to administrative duties such as Rector’s Coordinator of Student Affairs, Chair of Student Social Support Fund and an Administrative Committee Member for the Quality  Assurance Council of EMU (2008-2009 Academic Year). Moreover, she also took part in the exam office as an exam coordinator responsible for the invigilation duties.

Being an executive board member in EMU Continuing Education Center, she offers seminars to the public and private organizations in the fields of public relations, interpersonal communication and organizational culture.

Biography

      Since 2001 she has been teaching in the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies at Eastern Mediterranean University. She is one of the editor Kadın/Woman 2000 interdisciplinary women’s studies journal. teaching sociology and anthropology. Her main area is sociology, cultural anthropology, gender/feminist studies and cultural studies.
